Join us as we hike a portion of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park! This time, we will be exploring Kendall Ledges! Around 320 million years ago, the Cuyahoga Valley National Park and Virginia Kendall Ledges had fast-moving streams coming from the North and East that flowed into an inland sea covering Ohio at that time. The Cuyahoga Valley National Park Ledges are located within the Virginia Kendall Park Area of Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Sand, gravel and quartz pebbles were carried by the water and deposited in a wide delta. After millions of years, this debris in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park compacted and became the Sharon Conglomerate. The milk-white quartz pebbles poking from the Virginia and Kendall Park Ledges are tell-tale signs that these ledges, as well as most of the other cliffs in the region that are named ledges, are comprised of the Sharon Conglomerate.

We will hike for about an hour or so or until people want to finish.  Then we’ll meet for lunch afterward.

This event is open to Social & Professional members. In order to receive the meetup coordinates, you must register  Final details will be sent the day before the event. Dogs on a leash are welcome.

"I really enjoyed the program, and once I met everyone in the cohort, it made attending other Club events easier. I always saw familiar faces when I otherwise would have been overwhelmed by attending my first event and not knowing anyone. The kick-off brunch was so much fun. We played a dozen ice breaker games to ensure we got to know everyone and learned about our common interests. You could hear our laughter from down the hall. The program is excellent and Melinda, the program manager, is awesome. I loved the Facebook group chat because it gave us a closer sense of community and allowed us to keep in touch throughout the four months so we could organize last minute meetups. I can't stop raving to my friends and family how awesome this entire club is!" - Katriina Floderus, Cohort Two
